The Hindenburg catastrophe occurred on 6 May, 1937. The cause of the fire remains unknown, though there are multiple theories. Surprisingly, only 36 people perished in the disaster, one of them a ground crewman. The loss of the Hindenburg caused a decline in public interest in airship travel. What would have happened if the Hindenburg had not been lost? Maybe zeppelins would have remained popular. Also the band Led Zeppelin would have had to come up with a different photo for their debut album's cover. Personally, I'd like to fly on an airship some day. But I'm eccentric like that.

Thoughts from the White Board - March 25

Got a chest cold.  Not cool.  And my wife is watching The Vampire Diaries, which I downloaded for her so she could catch up on what her friends are talking about.  Also not cool.  I must admit, I watched one and a half episodes.  Good vampire ideas, but its too... 90210, but with vampires.  She agrees, but she's still watching it.  Funny how life works.

Oh cool, a girl vampire just got a broken 2 x 4 shoved through her back.  She's a goner.  My wife's response: "oh dude, that was disgusting."  I thought it was cool.  Again, its funny how er.. life.. works.

This is actually how my five year old plays tic-tac-toe.  Or, as an alternative, she will draw three marks, not in straight lines, then when she gets to the third one, she makes a line through them and says she has won.  I hope she keeps that attitude throughout life, even if I hope she eventually figures out the rules to tic-tac-toe.

P.S. I started to write this while it was still Sunday, but it changed to Monday before I finished.  If that helps explain how it can be the Thoughts from the 25th but the date is the 26th.  Crazy how that works, huh?

  1. The Vampire Diaries, overly dramatic, there is too much blood for TV, they need to cut back on the sad/dramatic music; then I might, might, be more into it. At least we get some comic relief with Damon. He is hilarious.
