The Hindenburg catastrophe occurred on 6 May, 1937. The cause of the fire remains unknown, though there are multiple theories. Surprisingly, only 36 people perished in the disaster, one of them a ground crewman. The loss of the Hindenburg caused a decline in public interest in airship travel. What would have happened if the Hindenburg had not been lost? Maybe zeppelins would have remained popular. Also the band Led Zeppelin would have had to come up with a different photo for their debut album's cover. Personally, I'd like to fly on an airship some day. But I'm eccentric like that.

Tax-related Thoughts from the White Board? - April 17

School is stressful, work sucks (I know I promised to keep my rants on my job out of this blog, so I'll spare you any further details and just leave it at "work sucks"), and I get to file an extension on our taxes or fear the men in the dark sunglasses coming to my home... ok, not really, but who trusts the IRS anyway?

So... Happy Tax Day, yall!

On a much brighter note, Happy Birthday to my wonderful wife, without whose ever-present love and affection I would be totally lost, instead of the just mostly lost that I am feeling at the moment.  She is a bright spot in an other-wise dreary day.

All tragedies are finished by a death, all comedies by a marriage. - George Gordon Byron

A psychiatrist asks a lot of expensive questions your wife asks for nothing. - Joey Adams

A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person. - Mignon McLaughlin

Is sex dirty? Only if it's done right. - Woody Allen

Today's parting comment comes from my Spanish 1010 class.  Mi professora es muy comica.  She showed us this Youtube clip, and then asked us some questions about it in Spanish so we could get more practice with stem-changing verbs.  If you don't know what stem-changing verbs are, take a moment to express your gratitude for having a life with one less headache in it to whatever source and/or Being you see fit.

Ok, the parting comment:

There is a second semester Spanish Love song out there with Erik Estrada that is great too, but it'll have to wait until I'm in... Spanish 1020!  Coming in Fall 2012 to a blog near you.
