The Hindenburg catastrophe occurred on 6 May, 1937. The cause of the fire remains unknown, though there are multiple theories. Surprisingly, only 36 people perished in the disaster, one of them a ground crewman. The loss of the Hindenburg caused a decline in public interest in airship travel. What would have happened if the Hindenburg had not been lost? Maybe zeppelins would have remained popular. Also the band Led Zeppelin would have had to come up with a different photo for their debut album's cover. Personally, I'd like to fly on an airship some day. But I'm eccentric like that.

Happy Days Are Here Again!

Math 1010 Final (third attempt) = 80%

That's passing, and for a fool like me, it's the best I can ask for.  Given the circumstances, that is.

In a situation like this, I wish I had a shirt like the one in the following video clip:

,,,

Yup.  I'd be blasting the Imperial March too, right now.  I too am feeling awesome, and to be feared.  By math problems, that is.

Now if my summer math class can only turn out happy too.  Math 1030, aka: "Contemporary Mathematics."  According to the Quantitative Literacy requirements page on Weber's website, it consists of:

Topics from mathematics which convey to the student the beauty and utility of mathematics, and which illustrate its application to modern society. Topics include geometry, statistics, probability, and growth and form.

Beauty and utility, huh?  With the textbook (and online portion... "progress" my tushy) alone costing $125, it better be the spork.  That's all I gotta say.

Talk about a great blending of form and function.  This was my favorite part of going to KFC as a kid. / Source: FedUpWithLunch.com

Anyway, so the good news is, having finished this great drain on my time, I will have more free time to do other things for the next little while.  I still need to write the final paper for my South Asian History course, and then my semester is over.  Then I need to start worrying in earnest about a new job.

Unless anybody has a bucket of money they'd like to donate to the "Save the Jason" Foundation.  I'll accept cash, personal check (with proof of ID) , or even credit card via paypal.  No, I'm serious.  Your donations can and will make a difference!  For serious, here.

Hmmm...

And in the short-term, I need to fix some holed-up pants, clean up around the house, help my wife work on the taxes, do some chores, sell some stuff on eBay, and maybe even work on a model airplane I've had sitting around for over a year.on the shelf.  And I'll be writing a review for Oz, The Great and Powerful.  Look for that in the next week or so.  And maybe I'll even get around to posting some of the thirty or so other reviews that I've had stacking up in my notes file.

Good times.

I had to add it up twice just to be sure.  That's why I got 80% on my final, folks.
